Craft & Vision: New Site
Just got a notice in my feeds that Craft & Vision just went public with their new site!
I have written about them here and can’t say enough good things about these books. I will make some notes and maybe write a couple of quicky reviews in the near future but I can say that I have them all conveniently stored in my DropBox so they are never far away and learned something from each and every one of them. That’s sayin something let me tell ya!
Each eBook is afford-ably priced at $5.00 and there is also a link to buy all the books with a 20% discount. Not only that, there is an iPad app coming out for those of you who are fortunate enough to have one of those puppies!
If you think think you might be interested in these books, and I can’t imagine you not being interested, click on the photo in this post or the link in my sidebar for more information. I have an affiliate account with Craft & Vision and would really appreciate it if you purchase your books through my link. Hey, a guys gotta eat!
The bottom line is that for the paltry price of $5.00 you can gain some knowledge! Each of those eBooks contain nuggets of wisdom that will change your view. It’s sort of spooky but in a good way!
Go ahead! Have a look.
4th of July Photo Ideas

As the 4th of July rapidly approaches I start thinking about how I’m going to top last years pictures. I start sniffing around the interwebs looking for new ideas. Here are a few articles that may or may not interest you:

How to photograph Fireworks displays
This isn’t even close to being all there is out there but it’s a start! Have fun this weekend and be careful. If you think good photography is tough, it’s even tougher with one eye.
Hawks Win! Hawks Win! Hawks Win!
They did it! They really did it!
I can’t wait for the parade. This is a picture from earlier this year of Kieran with Colin Fraser and Andrew Ladd.
That sure was a sweet shot in OT!!!!
St. Patricks Day Festivities
Whoa! This has been a quick year. Seems like St. Patricks Day 2009 was just last week and here it is again!
It seems that no one celebrates on the actual day any more though for some reason. On Saturday I went to 2 parades. One in Oak Forest, and the other in the Brookside Glen subdivision in Tinley Park. It was raining for both of them. But on the upside, my camera still seems to work and my bags will eventually dry out.
The parade in Oak Forest was a total surprise. I have lived in and around there for most of my life and cannot remember them having a parade on Cicero Avenue since I was a little kid. This year, they closed Cicero and put on a great parade! Even in the drizzling rain a boatload of people showed up. I thought that was very cool.
The parade itself was impressive. 90+ floats and lasted over an hour. It had everything you could ask for….Irish dancers, local businesses of all kinds, some good looking floats, politicians, and sheep. There were all kinds of things going on after the parade at the local pubs and restaurants too. Pretty cool if you ask me. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. I really hope that they keep doing this. It was the best thing Oak Forest has done in years. A tip of the hat to them! Read the rest of this entry »
Let it Snow!
Not much to type about but I thought I would share some snow pictures with you. It would appear that the midwest was spared this year. Seems pretty normal compared to the east coast. But then again, they seem to whine a little more about snow over there!
Weekend Variety
This was a fun weekend! I like variety and this weekend I got to make pictures of a bunch of different events.
Friday night was the Lincolnway Central vs Lincolnway East Hockey game. Also Senior Night for these schools. Once again, Bobby Hull was there signing autographs. I had made an 8×10 print of a picture of Kieran and Bobby from last year for him to autograph. He got a kick out of it and Kieran was pretty pumped about it! I also made a picture of the 2 of them for next year! He is a very nice guy.
I went last year and it was packed. This year was no different. What’s cool about this is the energy level. These schools take hockey pretty seriously and it shows. The crowd was really into it and so were the players. There was some serious banging going on from the 1st faceoff on. Some great goaltending on both ends but in the end, East took the trophy. Thanks to Head Coach Bill Hetfleisch, I got to spend the game on the bench and had a great ongoing conversation with Ed Herbert, the goalie coach, between shots. Great night to say the least!
After the hockey game I shot over to the Charlie Horse to see a few people that I went to HS with. That was fun! I hadn’t seen a few of the girls since HS and it was great to see them again. No pictures there though. Just a little catching up!
