Lightning Strike!
July 25, 2014
A pretty powerful thunderstorm blew through and I set my camera up and started ripping frames in hope of capturing some lightning strikes. I set my camera to manual with an aperture of f9 and the shutter set to bulb. I used my cable release and tried to keep the shutter open for around 10 seconds or so. After a big burst I would close the shutter because the lightning is acting as a giant flash and a picture could run the risk of overexposure.
After about 120 or so frames with a few small bolts of lightning I was just about to pack it up for the night and this happened. This one was booming as it was coming down it was so close. I guess patience does pay off.
