It’s been an odd summer around here. It seems the whole summer has been hot and humid and not much fun to be outside. Also it would appear that when I have gone out for walks, my camera hasn’t been with me. I was more interested in looking around and not so interested in making pictures.

I haven’t made all that many pictures this year. I didn’t really miss it all that much for some reason. Up until a few months ago, my camera was always with me. Then it was always with me but still in the bag. Then it started getting left on the table. Hard to make any pictures when you don’t have a camera. I have made use of the camera in my phone though. It’s a nice camera but it’s just not the same. Good for memories though!

Last Monday I took a really nice walk sans camera and saw all kinds of macro opportunities. The bees and various other bugs were all over the place. I made it a point of bringing my Fuji out for my next walk not thinking at all about macros. The only lens I have is a 35mm f1.4 and it doesn’t do macros all that well. I made a couple of nice pictures with it though. Today I brought out the Nikon with my Sigma 50mm f2.8 macro lens. Much better setup for making bug pictures!
