Skateboarding in the Park

March 30, 2015

Hopped on the train again this weekend and headed toward Chicago. Destination: Lincoln Park. Got off the train and headed north on the Brown Line. I thought it might be a nice day to go to the zoo.  A little too late though as I was there for about a half hour and they closed. Not the end of the world though. I just headed south and figured I could make a few cityscape pictures by the south pond. There is a pavilion created by Studio Gang Architects that I wanted to check out. I have seen a few pictures of it and wanted to see it for myself.

I was making a few pictures of the pavilion when a guy came skateboarding right through the middle of it. Total frame wrecker right? Not a chance! He inadvertently helped me out and now I have an original picture. I have seen pictures of this pavilion made at different hours of the day and night, from all kinds of angles, and different seasons, and all really nice, but none with a skateboarder in it. Could just be me, but I’m pretty happy with it.

Below is another picture I made about 40 yards away. There’s a lot to see and do around there and even though it was a little chilly, it was a great day for a walk. Or skateboarding.
