Summer Solstice 2014

Headed out to Bartel Grassland Saturday morning to celebrate the Summer Solstice. Couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant morning! The sunrise was pretty uneventful due to a pretty heavy morning fog but other than that it was a beautiful morning. I forget how quiet it can be out there in the early morning. The birds were even relaxing!

I made this picture about 50 minutes after sunrise. This was a perfect example of how the picture can be right in front of you and you don’t see it. I was taking pictures of snakes and some flowers and noticed this while sipping on my coffee.

It was a good morning.
