Hustle and Bustle – Chicago Style
December 12, 2014
With the nice weather we’ve been having lately considering it’s December in Chicago, I’ve been wandering around the downtown area looking for interesting pictures. I think I may have found one here.
The previous week we were at the same spot and while I liked the pictures, they didn’t look right to me. I couldn’t figure out what it was that didn’t look right and then it dawned on me. I was using my 18-105mm lens. Not that there is anything wrong with that lens, I really really like it and it has performed well for me over the years. What this scene needed was a little compression. I came back here with my 70-200mm lens and sure enough, it worked out as I had hoped!
If you’re not familiar with lens compression, here is a really short video that explains things a little better than I could. Hope it helps!
